Wendy's, TSN continue Kick for a Million promotion

Specialty channel TSN and fast food chain Wendy's have resumed their "Wendy's Kick for a Million" promotion for a third year. The contest began late last week and will run until Sept. 16. Viewers can enter the contest online at <http://www.tsn.ca/wendys>. On Sept. 21, four random entrants will be selected; one from western Canada, two from Ontario and one from eastern Canada. The four will travel to Toronto to compete in a "Kickdown Playoff." The competitor who can kick the longest field goal will go on to attempt a 50-yard field goal during the broadcast of the Canadian Football League game on Oct. 12. If successful, the kicker will win $1 million. A 40-yard kick will win the contestant a GMC Sierra. A 30-yard kick will gain the contestant a $15,000 travel voucher from SellOffVacations.com. The prize for a 20-yard kick is a $10,000 shopping spree from Best Buy. "Wendy's Kick for a Million is for the fans and our loyal customers," said Andy Lubinsky, director of marketing at Wendy's. "It's about giving back to the public and giving someone a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to appear on national television and become a millionaire."The contest is being promoted with 15- and 30-second commercials on TSN, CTV and other CTV-related specialty channels. Other campaign elements include public relations, in-game announcements, online advertising and in-restaurant materials including signs and instant-win cups.
