Website roundup

A new classified advertising website called Cvendu.ca has launched in Quebec as a joint venture between LiveDeal, Torstar Digital and Gesca. The site is designed to allow users to find the items for sale that are closest to their location. The user enters a postal code and the site will return ads for items with a 40km range first. The site will be tied to the classified ad systems of Gesca daily newspapers La Presse, Le Soleil, Le Droit, La Tribune, Le Nouvelliste, Le Quotidien et La Voix de l’Est. “One third of online Canadians visit at least one classified advertising website per month,” said Pierre-Elliott Levasseur, president of Gesca Digital. “Cvendu.ca capitalizes on the best online classified advertising technology to bring together buyers and sellers in an environment that makes the buying and selling of goods faster, easier and more effective.”
