Website roundup

The National Post has introduced three new websites. The first is a blog called Full Comment and located at <http://www.fullcomment.com>. The site is intended to allow readers to interact with the newspaper’s columnists and submit comments. The second, called the FP Trading Desk, is a blog intended to be an extension of the daily column of the same name. Located at <http://www.fptradingdesk.com>, the site will cover stock market analysis, investment opinions and related news. Readers are also invited to submit comments and tips. The paper has also created a new site at <http://www.fp100.ca> that consists of a timeline of business stories from the past century. It was developed as part of the activity surrounding the 100th anniversary of the Financial Post.

Montreal-based job search website Monster.ca has begun a new online initiative called Evalu8me.ca. Visitors to the site are invited to use the survey to conduct a self-evaluation of their workplace strengths and weaknesses, then invite co-workers to evaluate them for comparison. At the end of the program, participants will also be able to see how their evaluations compare to others in the same occupation. “Everyone wants to know more about how they are perceived by those around them, in terms of which qualities they bring to the job each day,” said Louis Gagnon, vice-president of marketing at Monster.ca. “Traditional employee evaluations aren’t designed to address what the boss, colleagues and customers really think of you and how it all compares with how you view your own strengths or qualities.”

GJP Advertising of Toronto has added a newsroom section to its website at <http://www.gjpadvertising.com>. The area contains recent company press releases, management biographies, awards information and a downloadable media kit. The site also includes a section listing events that the agency will be hosting or attending, and a new section called GJP Thought Pieces offering opinions from agency staff on the future of marketing.
