Telus spreads flamingos across Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton

Telus is conducting an street marketing initiative in Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton. The company has installed flocks of pink flamingo lawn ornaments in various public spaces in those three cities. The firm’s current Internet advertising campaign makes use of pink flamingos as spokescharacters. Each ornament wears a necktie reading, “I want to be wanted.” Passers-by are encouraged to take the ornaments home. Those who do so can enter a draw for a Dell notebook computer and one year of Telus high-speed Internet service. Advertising for Telus is handled by Taxi.
