Sponsorship roundup

Online gambling company PartyGaming has signed an agreement with Global Television making its PartyPoker.net service the exclusive sponsor of the series Rock Star Supernova. The sponsorship will include billboards and 30-second television commercials that will support a national summer broadcast ad campaign. The series will run from July 5 to Sept. 27. The agreement was negotiated by MacKinnon Calderwood Advertising of Mississauga, the Canadian agency of PartyPoker.net. “The opportunity to align PartyPoker.net with the international success of the Rock Star franchise was a perfect fit,” said Sylvia Prentice, director of media services at MacKinnon Calderwood. “Both brands focus on great entertainment in a fun and exciting atmosphere.”

Toronto-based cosmetics company Revlon Canada will participate in two new initiatives in association with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Revlon will seek to raise awareness for the foundation though in-store displays of its ColorStay line of face, eye, lip and nail products. The company will also contribute proceeds from the sale of these products to the foundation. The national promotion will run at drugstores and mass merchants through October. The company will also sponsor the 2006 CIBC Run for the Cure, which will take place on Oct. 1. Revlon Canada has been a supporter of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation since 1994.
