CTV begins online promotion for Whistler

CTV has created a series of Web-based components to promote its new series Whistler. The 13-episode drama follows the events surrounding the death of an Olympic athlete at the resort of the same name. Thirteen supplementary Web-based episodes, each approximately three minutes long, will be added to the CTV.ca website as the series progresses. Complete one-hour episodes of the show will also be available for viewing at the site. A stand-alone website for the program has been constructed at <http://www.whistlertheseries.com> containing synopses, cast biographies and character information. Another website, located at <http://www.afterthedrop.com>, takes the form of a blog operated by the fictional characters Feeney and Quinn. This site will also offer video clips of the musical acts that appear in the show. In addition, various fictional characters have pages at a number of popular social websites, including MySpace.com and Flickr.com, where the characters will post photographs and other information. The Web strategy for Whistler was developed by Bento Box of Toronto.
