KFC Canada breaks summer campaign

KFC Canada will break a new advertising campaign today that will introduce a new tagline: “The Taste Lives Here.” The national campaign, consisting of television, radio and newspaper ads, will run through the summer. It was created by Young & Rubicam of Toronto. “There is nothing like the authentic taste of KFC,” said Jennifer Langley, chief marketing officer of the fast food chain. “This is what Canadians love about our product. The strategy behind this campaign was to fully embrace this core equity of taste.” One 30-second television commercial, called “Astronauts,” shows a woman using the chain’s new thermal bag to take KFC food into space. A 15-second ad called “Shopping” depicts a mother coming home to her family with several buckets of chicken because it was on sale. “The idea that links the executions together is that the taste of KFC makes little moments in life a little tastier,” said Joseph Nanni, creative director, at Young & Rubicam. “We’re talking more to mom and showcasing what KFC offers her family.” The 750 KFC restaurants in Canada are operated by Priszm Canadian Income Fund.
