National Sports hires Venture Communications

Ontario retail chain National Sports has hired Venture Communications of Calgary to handle its marketing and communications. The agency won the account in a competitive review process involving six firms that began in January. “No other agency matched Venture’s understanding of what sets National Sports apart in the retail sporting goods market place, specifically our connection to the communities in which we compete and our passion for team sports,” said Doug Hayes, president of National Sports. National Sports has 21 locations in southern Ontario. The chain is owned by the Forzani Group, which hired Venture to handle marketing for its Sport Chek chain earlier this month.
