COKE PLAYS BINGO

Coca-Cola Canada is sending people to the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. The company launched its 1996 Big Bottle Bingo promotion last week, offering chances to win trips for two to the Olympics and cash prizes of up to $100,000. The promotion works in two ways: consumers can win instant prizes of $10, $50 and $1,000 with lucky cap liners, and they can collect liners to play bingo for prizes of $1,000, $10,000 and $100,000. Bingo cards are available on the backs of bottle labels. Bottle cap game pieces are available on two-litre sizes of Coca-Cola Classic, Diet Coke and Caffeine-free Diet Coke, as well as Sprite and Diet Sprite. TV and point-of-purchase advertising promoting the bingo game begins today. At the end of March new TV advertising and point-of-purchase materials will feature prize winners. The promotion was created by Blitz Direct & Promotion in Toronto. Blitz is the promotional arm of Cossette Communication-Marketing which is handling the advertising at its Toronto office.
