AIR CANADA INCREASES WESTERN SERVICES

Air Canada has expanded its service in Western Canada. The airline launched its Rapidair service between Vancouver and Calgary last week, with 29 flights a day. At the end of the month there will be new non-stop services from Vancouver to Denver, San Francisco and Los Angeles, and non-stop services from Calgary to Denver and Houston. On Dec. 20 a new service between Vancouver and Hong Kong will be launched, and there will be a new Vancouver/Calgary to Frankfurt service beginning Dec. 21. There will also be increased service to Honolulu and Maui in December. To promote the new Rapidair service, Air Canada is offering double Aeroplan miles between Oct. 15 and March 15. With the expanded services from Calgary, passengers can get double Aeroplan miles between Oct. 29 and Dec. 15. The airline launched a print campaign last week to attract more frequent flyers to its Aeroplan program. The ads were created by Marketel of Montreal.
