TTC ACCEPTS FULL BUS ADS
By Adnews Staff
The Toronto Transit Commission has re-thought its position on full bus ads. A few years ago the TTC was against them because it thought they would cheapen its image. But now that times are tight the TTC is welcoming the $40,000 to $50,000 per bus it can pick up every year in additional advertising revenue. Starting yesterday, rockers David Bowie and Lenny Kravitz began promoting their new albums on painted buses. They will be joined by the Smashing Pumpkins and the Rolling Stones next month. In the past few weeks, buses have been used to promote milk, Guinness beer, Nike shoes, Mr. Big chocolate bars, the movie Mortal Kombat, stage show Beauty And The Beast, the Metro Zoo and the Yellow Pages directory.
