Corby readies New Year's Eve TTC sponsorship

Alcohol distribution company Corby Spirit and Wine has entered into a sponsorship agreement with the Toronto Transit Commission to provide free rides home for residents of the city on New Year's Eve. The "Corby Safe Rides" program will provide free travel on all TTC buses, streetcars and subways from 7PM on Dec. 31 to 7AM on Jan. 1. This is the fifth year the company has conducted this promotion.

A new extention of the program this year will offer free TTC tokens on packages of participating Corby's products sold via LCBO retail stores. Approximately 24,000 tokens will be distributed on bottles of J.P. Wiser's whisky, Polar Ice vodka and Lamb's rum at LCBO stores in the Greater Toronto Area.

"New Year's Eve is one of the most celebrated nights of the year," said Patrick O'Driscoll, president and CEO of Corby Spirit and Wine. "It's an occasion where many Canadians will be raising a glass to ring in 2018. Our message with 'Corby Safe Rides' is simple: please don't drink and drive. This important campaign is part of our ongoing commitment to raising awareness about responsible consumption, not just on New Year's Eve, but all year round."
