ACA AD COURSE FOR NEOPHYTES

The Association of Canadian Advertisers will once again hold its advertising management program for those new to the ad business. Intended for junior/assistant product managers, the 12-weeks of workshops will provide a basic introduction to advertising. The course will be coordinated and taught in part by Ian Fisher, president of the Advertising Educators Association. The other instructor is Ken Kirk, a professor at Sheridan College and consultant to Telemedia. The program starts Sept. 14, and runs one night a week. Topics covered are: the marketing mix, advertising strategy, sales promotion, advertising research, advertising budgets and new media such as the Internet. The cost of registration varies for ACA members and non-members, and there is an 'early bird special' for those who sign up before Aug. 10.
