
Stand.earth conducts Planet Bet campaign

Stand.earth, an environmental advocacy organization, has begun a campaign called “Planet Bet” to coincide with World Environment Day on June 5. Developed by The Hive of Toronto, the campaign features a parody betting service at <http://www.planet-bet.com> at which users can wager on natural disasters such as tornadoes, hurricanes and wildfires. The site then redirects visitors to the Stand.earth website for information about climate change. Public relations are being conducted by Agnostic.
“Climate change has never been more important, and more ignored,” said Lauren McCrindle, co-chief operating officer at The Hive. “We knew we needed to jolt people out of their apathy, and only a bold, sticky idea would do justice to the work Stand.earth is doing.”
