Iams debuts pet pitching AI
By Derek Winkler
Pet food brand Iams has begun a promotion that encourages consumers to get a pet puppy or kitten. The initiative makes use of artificial intelligence software from Google to generate short videos intended to help convince family members to get a pet. Users of the tool, called “I Want a Puppy/Kitten Studios,” can specify a breed and a name, as well as messages to include. It will then produce a video of an animal matching that description. The software is located at <https://www.iams.ca/en-ca/puppykittenstudios>. The initiative was developed by Adam & Eve DDB. Iams is a division of Mars.
“From elaborate slideshow presentations to songs and grand gestures, we know the lengths that prospective pet parents go to when pitching the idea of a new pet,” said Animesh Kumar, marketing director at Mars Pet Nutrition Canada. “Our team wanted to create ‘I Want a Puppy/Kitten Studios’ to help turn the aspiration of owning a pet into a reality for even more households across Canada. More importantly, we’re excited to bring the benefits of pet ownership to even more pet-loving homes across the country.”
