Epitaph conducts Garbage Media promotion
By Rob Bale
Epitaph Group of Toronto recently conducted a promotion called “Garbage Media” in support of its media planning and buying services. The initiative is intended to highlight the value of a media agency as an alternative to programmatic advertising buying. It consisted of listings on an advertising market exchange for small display spaces in alleyways near well known high-traffic areas such as Sankofa Square in Toronto. According to Epitaph, it was able to sell these placements to real media agencies for a number of real brands. The promotion was developed in collaboration with Rethink.
“As an industry, we’ve lost respect for the true art of media,” said Mike Rumble, founder of Epitaph Group. “We wanted to demonstrate that nothing can replace thoughtful placements and quality impressions. At Epitaph, we’re committed to making sure that media is done right. This is just the beginning of a much-needed conversation in our industry.”
