PepsiCo Foods Canada has begun a promotion for its Cheetos brand of snack food. The initiative takes the form of an art installation called the “Cheetle Hand Statue” in Cheadle, AB. According to the company, “cheetle” is a term referring to the orange dust that covers the product. The 17-foot-tall statue depicts there fingers emerging from the ground, covered in orange dust at the tips and holding a Cheetos Puff. The statue will remain in place until Nov. 4. The promotion also includes social media content.
“Cheetos fans have always known that the delicious, cheesy dust on their fingertips is an unmistakably delicious part of the Cheetos experience, but now it officially has a name: cheetle,” said Lisa Allie, senior marketing director at PepsiCo Foods Canada. “We're excited to be celebrating cheetle and Canadians' cheesy, cheetle-dusted fingertips on such a grand scale and in such a uniquely mischievous way.”
