Lyft begins Ditch Your Car promotion

Ride sharing company Lyft has begun a promotion in Toronto called "Ditch Your Car" in collaboration with Bike Share Toronto and car sharing service Zipcar. The promotion encourages consumers in that city to give up the use of their cars for 30 days. Consumers can enter online at <http://www.ditchwithlyft.com/toronto>. Fifty randomly-selected entrants will receive $480 in transportation credits to use with the participating services. The promotion will run from Oct. 8 to Nov. 6.
"The way that people move around cities is changing faster than ever, and we are excited to challenge Toronto residents to change their everyday habits and give up their cars for a month," said Tim Houghton, general manager for Lyft Toronto. "Lyft alone is not the overall solution to overcome transportation hurdles, but by partnering with Bike Share Toronto and Zipcar we are able to create a full menu of mobility options for Toronto residents."
