INTERAC BANKING ON STRINGER VERONI KETCHUM

Just weeks after being handed the account for the Interac Association, Stringer Veroni Ketchum Advertising Inc. of Toronto has launched a Christmas campaign for the organization. Using billboards in major markets across the country, the agency is telling holiday shoppers that purchasing with Interac Direct Payment is easier than hauling around wads of cash. One ad shows a man carrying an immense Christmas tree. The headline reads, "Carry less cash. You already have enough to carry." The new Interac theme line, "Swipe the Stripe," appears at the bottom of the ad. Stringer Veroni Ketchum got the Interac business in November after a lengthy review that lasted more than six months. Previous incumbent BCP of Toronto and two other unnamed agencies went down to the wire with Stringer Veroni Ketchum. The agency will be responsible for all advertising and direct mail for Interac's two main services: Shared Cash Dispensing and Interac Direct Payment. Agency president Clive Veroni would say only that the account was worth several million dollars. He told Adnews that the agency is currently working on some Interac TV spots that will break in the new year. The Interac Association is a 27-member national organization that allows businesses to perform electronic financial transactions.
