Canadian Ophthalmological Society conducts campaign

The Canadian Ophthalmological Society of Toronto has begun a new awareness campaign called "See the Possibilities." The initiative, developed by Cossette Health and The Colony Project, is timed to coincide with National Vision Health Month. It is intended to educate consumers about the role of ophthalmologists in maintaining eye health. The campaign consists of a series of videos relating the personal stories of eye patients. The campaign also includes a website at <http://www.seethepossibilities.ca>, media relations, an influencer program and social media activities.

"The role of an ophthalmologist is not well understood by the Canadian public," said ophthalmologist Phil Hooper. "For people who have never experienced eye afflictions, the difference between an optometrist, optician and ophthalmologist may not be clear. The 'See The Possibilities' campaign will help Canadians better understand the work we do for our patients in helping to restore vision."
