Walmart debuts new mobile application

Mississauga-based retail chain Walmart Canada has released a new online shopping mobile application. Available for Android and Apple devices, the application allows users to have rapid access to products which they purchase regularly. It also offers access to the chain's weekly flyer and alerts when pre-selected items go on sale. In-store users of the program can scan product barcodes for reviews and prices. Users in Ottawa and the Greater Toronto Area can also schedule a time to pick up an online grocery order.
"The Walmart app saves customers time and money and provides better access to products while at home or on the go," said Rick Neuman, executive vice-president of technology and electronic commerce at Walmart Canada. "Just in time for the important back-to-school shopping season, customers can also access product reviews, items on Rollback and a faster check out process, making shopping just that much more efficient."
