Amaya sponsors The Brain Project

Online poker company Amaya has signed-on as a sponsor of The Brain Project, an art exhibition and fundraising initiative conducted by Baycrest Health Sciences of Toronto. The project is intended to promote awareness of brain health. It will consists of sculptures placed in public areas around Toronto. Amaya will work in association with digital artist Ron Wild to produce a sculpture representing the strategic and creative elements of the human brain used in poker, chess and other games.

"Amaya is happy to support the The Brain Project and to advance public awareness of important issues surrounding mental health and awareness," said David Baazov, chairman and CEO of Amaya. "Poker is a mind sport and a form of entertainment which heavily encompasses strategic thought, helping to keep the brain healthy and active. Many of the poker world's top players find a healthy diet means a healthy mind, and a healthy mind means better results."
