Canadian Tire debuts new mobile application

Canadian Tire of Toronto has released a new mobile payment application called Canadian Tire MPay & Play. The application will be made available exclusively to customers using the Canadian Tire Options MasterCard. In addition to mobile payments, the application also incorporates loyalty program features. Consumers using the system to make payments will receive "badges" which can be collected and redeemed for extra Canadian Tire "money." Users will also receive special offers from the company's various retail chains on their mobile devices.
"At Canadian Tire, it is our unrelenting desire to exceed our customers' expectations with an unforgettable shopping experience," said Eugene Roman, chief technology officer at Canadian Tire. "The Canadian Tire MPay & Play app is the only payment solution in Canada to deliver payment capabilities, gamification features, special offers and rewards to customers, while allowing them to track their banking information and rewards."
The application, which can be used at all Canadian Tire retail locations nationally, is available for Apple and Android devices.
