Bic conducts children's handwriting campaign
By Adnews Staff
Bic Canada has begun an online promotion intended to raise awareness of the importance of handwriting for school-aged children. Called "Fight For Your Write," the campaign invites parents to sign a pledge at <http://www.bicfightforyourwrite.ca> to teach their children the importance of writing. The site also offers advice on making handwriting fun for children. It also promotes the company's line of writing instruments, including the Bic Extra-Craze Mechanical PencilSometimes, which is aimed primarily at children.
"We encourage parents to take the pledge when their kids are present, so kids can understand the importance of writing," said Michael Salfi, stationary brand manager at Bic. "We're also providing tools to get kids excited and motivated to write. It's all part of Bic's vision to help build a positive foundation for the future."
As part of the promotion, Bic will donate $10,000 to the Breakfast Club of Canada and, through this organization, an additional $10,000 in stationery supplies to Canadian schools.
