Subaru Canada hires Red Urban as AOR

Automaker Subaru Canada of Mississauga has retained Red Urban of Toronto as its creative advertising agency of record. Red Urban won the account in a six-month search and review process that included 14 Canadian agencies. The assignment includes national brand advertising as well as dealer marketing content development for the Ontario, western and Atlantic regions.

Red Urban has produced several campaigns for Subaru this year, including national campaigns for its BRZ, Impreza and XV Crosstrek vehicles. Advertising for Subaru was previously developed by DDB Canada. Subaru's media work will continue to be handled by OMD. Groupe Rinaldi will continue to handle marketing for the company's Quebec dealer association.

"After an intensive process, we selected Red Urban because it is a unique creative agency with a depth of current and relevant category experience unmatched in the industry," said Ted Lalka, vice-president of marketing and product planning at Subaru Canada. "Our decision to select Red Urban was based on their fit with our Subaru brand as well as the work they've already delivered for us nationally on the brand and on the retail sales level."
