Awards: 2020 CMA Awards Show

The Canadian Marketing Association of Toronto conducted its 2020 CMA Awards Show this week. The awards, which recognize achievement in Canadian marketing, took the form of an online event this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Subaru Canada and Zulu Alpha Kilo won the show’s Best of the Best award for their “Greatest Outback of All Time” campaign. The Sick Kids Foundation, Airbnb and No Fixed Address won the Top Cause award for fundraising campaigns. The Marketer of the Year award was a tie between Sandra Sanderson, senior vice-president of marketing at Sobeys, and Cindy Wong, regional head of marketing at HSBC North America. The 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award went to Steve Levy, chief client officer at Ipsos. Two new awards were introduced this year. The Integrated Marketing Award was received by Plan Canada and RI, while the B2B Marketing Award went to FCB Canada.

“Each year, we are amazed by the quantity and quality of noteworthy submissions,” said John Wiltshire, president and CEO of the association. “This year was no different. We take pride in recognizing marketing professionals at the top of their field, who worked hard to build creativity, resilience and success for their brands despite the challenges of 2020.”
