Ontario Provincial Police conduct social media campaign

The Ontario Provincial Police has begun a social media campaign intended to raise awareness of issues relating to online safety. The campaign is timed to coincide with International Safer Internet Day on Feb. 10. The organization will conduct activities on various social media services, aimed primarily at young people and their families, including advice on the potential risks and the responsible use of the Internet, email and mobile devices.

As part of the campaign, Corus Entertainment specialty television channel YTV will launch a new series on online games on the subject of Internet safety. The games, located at <http://www.ytv.com>, consist of online safety quizzes. YTV will also air animated television commercials and live host promotion of the games.
