Days Inn Canada conducts Facebook campaign

Toronto-based hotel chain Days Inn Canada has begun a social media campaign called "Show Your Love With a Like" in association with Childhood Cancer Canada. The one-week fundraising campaign is being conducted via Facebook and leads up to International Childhood Cancer Awareness Day on Feb. 15. During the campaign, the company will donate one dollar to the foundation for each "like" received by the brand's Facebook page. The promotion will be supported with materials in the chain's hotel's nationally.
"Through our social channels we're hoping to connect with people on a national level to raise awareness for this important cause," said Irwin Prince, president and chief operating officer of Realstar Hospitality. "With the help of our franchise community, guests and Facebook fans, our goal is to raise $5,000 by week's end."
In Canada, the Days Inn franchise rights are owned by Realstar Hospitality.
