Dairy Farmers of Canada conducts competition at CNE

Dairy Farmers of Canada conducted a competition promotion yesterday at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto. The initiative took the form of a macaroni and cheese contest called the "Grate Canadian Cheese Cook-Off" at the organization's installation at the CNE. Four chefs took part in the competition, with Andrew Farrell of Halifax-based 2 Doors Down winning the title for his Crispy Greens Mac & Cheese recipe. The recipes used in the contest have been posted online at <http://www.allyouneedischeese.ca/cookoff>.
"I'd like to congratulate all four competitors, and of course the winner, chef Andrew Farrell, for doing an outstanding job today and helping us all celebrate Canadian cheese in all its delicious glory," said Sandra Da Silva, assistant director of external communications at Dairy Farmers of Canada. "I hope we've inspired Canadians to put their own spin on this classic comfort food."
