International news: WPP buys XMKT Group

WPP has signed an agreement to acquire XMKT Group, a marketing services agency based in Shanghai, China. The company, founded in 2010, specializes in customer experience management, with a focus on events, retail promotions, entertainment properties and digital marketing. It employs approximately 250 people. Its clients include Diageo and Uniqlo. According to WPP, the acquisition is part of its ongoing efforts to increase its presence in fast-growing markets such as the Asia-Pacific region.
