Koodo Mobile spokescharacter gets sitcom

Mobile communications company Koodo Mobile has signed an agreement with Toronto-based media company Camillion giving it exclusive global rights to Koodo's El Tabador spokescharacter for entertainment uses. Camillion is now developing a half-hour situation comedy featuring the wrestling-themed animated character. The television program will be accompanied by online, mobile and video game content, as well as merchandise.
El Tabador has appeared in advertising campaigns for Koodo for the last four years. The campaigns were developed by Taxi.
"El Tabador's character is a natural not only for a TV sitcom, but also for any digital platform," saod Camillion chairman and CEO Carl Demarco. "He has global, cross-cultural appeal, with humour and charm that will play as well globally as it does with Canadians."
