Best Buy, Rogers Media ready new technology magazine

Electronics retailer Best Buy Canada, based in Burnaby, BC, has begun a joint venture with Rogers Media of Toronto to launch a new magazine called Best Buy Life & Tech. The magazine will debut in time for the 2013 holiday season. The print edition will be distributed free in Best Buy stores in English Canada, accompanied by an online edition and a mobile application. The content will focus on technology trends and new products, as well as lifestyle stories. The print magazine will be published six times per year, with a circulation of 300,000 copies. The digital versions will be available to 1.4 million members of the chain's Reward Zone loyalty program. A French-language version will launch next year. Rogers Media will lead the development of the magazine and its content, and manage advertising sales. Advertising options will include content integration and product showcase sponsorships.

"With Best Buy Life & Tech we offer our advertising partners an incredibly efficient and targeted way to engage Best Buy shoppers across Canada through a world-class content experience ultimately designed to help customers better understand their technology and be inspired by how it can be used to enhance their daily lives," said Brandon Kirk, vice-president of sales at Rogers Publishing.
