Sport Chek, Quiksilver ready joint promotion

Calgary-based sporting goods retailer Sport Chek is preparing a promotion in association with athletic clothing brand Quiksilver. The promotion will take the form of a touring skateboarding demonstration. It will begin in Calgary on July 13 and visit Winnipeg and Toronto before ending on July 18. The demonstrations will feature professional skateboarder Tony Hawk and others. The initiative is in support of the debut of a line of Quiksilver products sold in Sport Chek stores. "The Sport Chek and Quiksilver partnership marks a pivotal milestone in our dedication and support to the active sport community, and what better way to celebrate than by hosting one of the most inspirational skateboard crews in the world," said Frederick Lecoq, vice-president of marketing and e-commerce FGL Sports, parent company of Sport Chek. "Our goal for this partnership is to continue to provide Sport Chek consumers with top of the line apparel regardless of whether they are on a ramp, atop a mountain or in the rink."
