Sponsorship roundup

Apparel and footwear company Peak Sports has signed-on as a sponsor of the Toronto Raptors basketball team for a four-year term. According to the Raptors, the deal makes the organization the first Canadian professional sports team to be sponsored by a China-based company. The agreement will give Peak Sports broadcast and venue brand exposure, including digital signage and advertising placements. In addition, Peak Sports merchandise will be sold at the Real Sports Apparel store in Maple Leaf Square and the Raptors Team Shop at Air Canada Centre. Peak Sports will also be the title sponsor of the Toronto Raptors Youth Basketball Clinics and Raptors Basketball Summer Academy. "Peak Sports is a young, dynamic, global brand with great presence in the sports industry," said David Hopkinson, senior vice-president of business partnerships at team owner Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. "We're proud to be the first professional sports team in Canada to partner with Peak. We look forward to a long and healthy relationship and working together to grow this global sport into new and innovative territory."
