Website roundup

Toronto-based commuter newspaper Tonight has launched a new website focusing on breaking news at <http://www.tonightnewspaper.com>. The site features content from The Canadian Press. The release of the site coincides with a 12-week advertising campaign for the newspaper, consisting of television radio, out-of-home and print ads. "We think the introduction of paywalls will impact the way many Canadians seek out breaking news," said Tom Hyde, senior vice-president at Tonight. "If you as a consumer have a cap on the number of free articles you can access, you'll want to save your views for more in-depth features rather than breaking news stories. Now those readers can come to Tonightnewspaper.com for the most up-to-date breaking news. News habits on the web are about to change, and we're set to leverage our free news brand to take advantage of that."
