CBC English Services has merged its drama and comedy departments into a new division called Scripted Prime Time. According to the organization, this is due to recent budget cuts and has resulted in the loss of three positions in the Commissioned and Scripted department. The reorganization is intended to "focus the department's resources on content creation and ensure a streamlined, cost efficient business model is in place." Jenny Hacker, formerly creative head of comedy has been appointed senior director of the new division.
