58Ninety acquired Due North Communications

Toronto-based digital agency 58Ninety has acquired branding agency Due North Communications, also based in Toronto. The two companies will be merged to form a new agency called One. Ted Boyd, co-founder and CEO of 58Ninety, will become CEO of One. Jill King, president of Due North, will become president of the new firm. Karen Howe, senior vice-president and creative director at Due North, will hold the same position at One. "We've created One to be an evolved marketing agency with a deep understanding of the business of brand building as well as the technology required to do so in a multi-channel digital age," said Boyd. "An agency where the brand truly gets digital and digital truly gets the brand. With digital always at the table, One will offer clients a unique perspective and senior attention across all aspects of their business. One is purpose-built to help clients capitalize on the increasing interplay between brands and technology and the impact this has on consumer engagement and other core business metrics." No financial details are available.
