Walmart conducts Mom of the Year Award promotion
Walmart Canada has begun a Mother's Day promotion called the "Mom of the Year Award." The annual initiative will Consumers can submit nominations between May 10 and July 8 at <http://www.momoftheyear.ca>. Each nominated mother will be asked to outline a favoured charity or cause. A judging panel, consisting of three mothers from Walmart Canada along with hockey player Hayley Wickenheiser, Today's Parent editor-in-chief Karine Ewart and opera singer Natalie Choquette, will select eight finalists. The finalists will receive a trip to Toronto for a photo shoot, $10,000 for themselves and $10,000 for their causes. The grand prize winner will also receive $100,000 for her cause. "The Mom of the Year Award gives all of us an opportunity to say thank you to those mothers who have had the biggest impact on us," said Shelley Broader, president and CEO of Walmart Canada. "We hope that every Canadian will join us in our charge to give back to moms by nominating a special mom they know."
