Travel company Hotels.com has begun a contest promotion called "Suite Escapes." The online contest is being conducted through the brand's Facebook page in in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand. Visitors can enter by creating a virtual hotel suite for a weekly trip and inviting three friends to enter it. If all three accept the invitation, the group will be entered into a draw for that trip. Sixteen trips will be awarded over the course of six weeks, including a grand prize of a one-week trip to the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island Resort. "The Suite Escapes promotion is Hotels.com's first social media contest crossing international borders," said Taylor Cole, director of public relations and social media at Hotels.com North America. "It's an opportunity for us to say thank you and give back to our customers in a really fun way. Social media and Facebook in particular is an integral part of our engagement with our customers and we wanted to give our Facebook fans a chance to experience some of the world's best hotels."
