Toronto-based online reservation service Hotels.com has begun a contest promotion called "My Free Night." The campaign is intended to attract customers to its loyalty program. During the contest, which will run until the end of the year, the company will give away a free one-night stay in a participating hotel each day. The contest is being supported with a 30-second television commercial. In addition, the company is encouraging consumers to share how they like to spend a free night via social media websites. The company will offer special deals to destinations that emerge as popular choices in the social media component. The campaign also includes a two-minute online video depicting a man packing as many activities as possible into a 24-hour trip to Las Vegas.
"Our Welcome Rewards program rewards travelers with one free night for every 10 nights stayed at our 85,000 participating properties and the freedom of no blackout dates," said Taylor Cole, a spokesperson for Hotels.com. "We're excited to extend the rewards with the #MyFreeNight campaign to encourage consumers to pursue their travel wanderlust."
