MDC Partners has acquired media agency RJ Palmer of New York. No financial details are available. All of the principals in the firm will remain on staff. The company, founded in 1979, is the 10th largest media communications agency in the United States, according to MDC. Its services include strategy, television, print, out-of-home, radio and digital media planning and buying, as well as branded entertainment and corporate barter. "We are now in the position where we are frequently pitching multinational business with clients who are looking for holistic business solutions," said Miles Nadal, chairman and CEO of MDC Partners. "Although we have long been in the media planning business, our media buying capabilities have been on a modest scale. In the coming year, we will look to make acquisitions that will expand our scale, scope and expertise in the media business, specifically in digital, social media and direct response. Through the acquisition of RJ Palmer, we see tremendous opportunities to help shape the rapidly changing media landscape and offer our clients fully integrated, strategically driven, global solutions."
