Pittsburgh-based clothing retailer American Eagle Outfitters has begun a search for a marketing communications agency or agencies. The assignment will include traditional and digital media strategy, planning and execution, as well creative development for the American Eagle Outfitters, Aerie and 77kids brands in North America and internationally. Ark Advisors of New York is managing the search, which is expected to conclude in the first quarter of this year. "Hiring an agency is a natural evolution in the growth of the AEO family of brands," said Michael Leedy, the chief marketing officer at American Eagle Outfitters. "We are looking forward to the mutual creativity, expertise and chemistry that will result from a relationship between our strong internal team and key outside partners." The company operates approximately 1,000 retail locations as well as an online store. Its products are aimed primarily at young people between the ages of 15 and 25.
