Gap begins I Want Candy campaign

Clothing retailer Gap has begun an online campaign called "I Want Candy" for its GapKids winter product line. The campaign makes use of a music video posted to the brand's Facebook and YouTube pages. The video features 11-year-old singer Maria Aragon of Winnipeg, accompanied by a band of five other girls wearing clothing from the line. The video will also be displayed in movie theaters nationally and on additional websites including Disney.com. Some viewers of the video will also be offered discounts on purchases for sharing the video with friends. The also campaign includes magazine advertising. "The 'I Want Candy' collection evokes the feeling of what it's like to be young again during the holidays," said Seth Farbman, chief marketing officer at Gap. "It's fun, optimistic and captures the magic of the season. We wanted to bring that feeling to life through a music video that captures a moment of pure, uninhibited joy and excitement. It's something every generation can relate to and we hope families will enjoy it together."
