Frito Lay Canada begins Chip Trips promotion

Frito Lay Canada has begun a summer promotion called "Lay's Chip Trips" in association with the Canadian Tourism Commission. The initiative is aimed at consumers who are seeking an affordable summer vacation. During the promotion, specially-marked packages of Lay's potato chips will carry identification numbers that can be submitted online at <http://www.lays.ca> to accumulate points. The points can then be redeemed for discounts at approximately 400 Canadian attractions and businesses such as hotels, car rental agencies, golf courses, zoos, amusement parks, restaurants, festivals and museums. The promotion will run until early August, while discounts can be redeemed until the end of the year. "We want to give back to our consumers by launching Lay's Chip Trips, which will help our consumers rediscover Canada this summer," said Tony Matta, marketing vice-president at Frito Lay Canada. "We expect Lay's Chip Trips to be the biggest Canadian consumer engagement campaign of 2010, truly something that has never been done before. With hundreds of local partners, we'll be able to reach people in every community across Canada." Frito Lay Canada is a division of PepsiCo Foods Canada.
