Vancouver-based outdoor retailer Mountain Equipment Co-op has redesigned its website at <http://www.mec.ca>. The changes includes a new visual style and a simplified navigation system. "Whether they buy on line or in-store, we know our members use MEC.ca to inform their purchasing decisions and to plan their outdoor activities," said Nathalie Baudoin, the company's senior manager of communication and marketing. "The overriding goal of the website redesign is to further our e-commerce success while improving non-product information." The redesign was handled by OpenRoad Communications of Vancouver.

Toronto-based laser vision correction company Lasik MD has redesigned its website at <www.lasikmd.com>. The site is intended to provide all the information a potential customer might want to know about laser eye surgery. The content includes a series of videos about the process as well as a calculator to determine the possible financial savings of the procedure. "We perform more than half of all Lasik procedures in Canada," said Avi Wallerstein, company co-founder. "In response to this high demand, we wanted to offer prospective patients a single, online resource where they can get a comprehensive overview of laser vision correction."
