Sirius Canada, Best Buy begin Juno Awards contest
By Adnews Staff
Satellite radio company Sirius Canada has begun a contest promotion in association with electronics retailer Best Buy Canada. The national promotion takes the form of a Juno Awards-themed version of Sirius' "Face the Music Challenge." The initiative will take place in Best Buy stores in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Halifax, as well as online at the Sirius and Best Buy websites. Entrants must identify the artist or title of various songs based on a 30-second sound clip. The winner will receive a trip for two to St. John's to attend the 2010 Juno Awards on April 18. "We're excited to team up with Best Buy Canada and reward the ultimate Canadian music buff with a trip to the Junos," said Janet Langille, marketing vice-president at Sirius. "Showcasing Canadian artists and helping listeners discover new music in unique ways is something that has always been a priority for Sirius Canada." The contest is being promoted online and in-stores with touch screen game kiosks, retail displays and flyers.
