NEWSPAPER ASSOCIATION CHOOSES BOARD
By Adnews Staff
The Canadian Newspaper Association, the result of a merger between the Canadian Daily Newspaper Association and the Newspaper Marketing Bureau in April, has chosen its board of governors and directors. The governors represent the country's seven major newspaper groups and one independent. They are: David Radler of Hollinger Inc.; William Ardell of Southam, Inc.; Jean Durocher of Quebecor Inc.; Stuart Garner of Thompson Newspapers Ltd.; Roger Landry of Montreal La Presse; and Hunter Grant of Ontario's Brockville Recorder and Times. The board of directors is made up of 16 senior industry members and is chaired by Globe and Mail publisher Roger Parkinson. A chief executive officer will be named in the next few weeks. Nadbank, a newspaper audience databank research program, will continue as a separate company under the association and is expected to have a board of its own set up by the end of the year.
