Fionn MacCool's begins Passport to Party contest

Toronto-based Prime Restaurants of Canada has begun a contest promotion for its Fionn MacCool's chain of pubs. The contest, called "Passport to Party," is tied to the 250th anniversary of Guinness beer. To enter, Canadians must visit a website at <http://www.passporttoparty.com> and submit a story about a favourite Irish pub. The stories will be judged on their entertainment value. On Sept. 11,  finalists will compete in local competitions at 13 pubs nationally. The regional winners will then compete for the grand prize at a final in Toronto on Sept. 19. The winner will receive a trip to Dublin, Ireland to participate in Guinness' 250th anniversary party. "We are delighted to partner with Guinness for this contest, and to be able to give one of Prime Pubs' loyal beer drinkers the trip of a lifetime," said Grant Cobb, senior vice-president of Prime Pubs. "The prize package, which includes a behind-the-scenes tour of St. James Gate Brewery, is packed with exciting activities and will ensure that the trip will be one of the winner's most memorable experiences ever."
