East Side Mario's begins Budda Boom Budda Ching contest

Restaurant chain East Side Mario's has begun a new contest promotion called "Budda Boom Budda Ching." The three-month initiative will involve awarding a prize to each customer of a participating East Side Mario's location. Prizes will include 25 trips, three Dodge Caravans and 100 Sony television sets, as well as gift cards and food. The contest also includes an online component conducted through the EastSideMarios.com website. Restaurant customers will receive a number that can be submitted to the site for another chance to win prizes. Visitors to the site will also be directed to the chain's Facebook page to receive another number. Ten locations in the Greater Toronto Area offer kiosks which customers can use to check their numbers immediately. "Everyone loves to win, but most contests have a limited number of winners," said Dan Benoit, marketing director of East Side Mario's. "We value each and every one of our guests so we created a contest which would let all of them experience the thrill of winning. We're particularly excited about giving fans an opportunity to win through our Facebook page because, as far as we know, it is the first time a national casual dining restaurant in Canada has ever run a contest with an online bonus like this." The contest is being promoted with in-store materials and a 10-week national radio advertising campaign. The promotion was developed by Endeavour Marketing of Toronto, with experiential marketing handled by Endo Networks, media planning and buying conducted by Ron Christie Communications and public relations from Cowan & Company. East Side Mario's is owned by Prime Restaurants of Canada.
