Website roundup

Quebec-based PromoPost Services will launch a new website in the fall called Couponclick.ca. The site will host a variety of coupons for goods and services that consumers can download and print. Each printout will include a code identifying the coupon and another identifying the user, in an effort to counter fraud. "This is an innovation that's being applauded by both manufacturers and retailers, who have long awaited a secure, powerful and value-added online marketing tool to help boost sales," said company president Pierre Chasle. "The technology provides marketers with a direct link to customers, and the ability to gather rich, aggregated information on coupon users that enhances customer relationship management efforts and enables the creation of customized promotions."

Toronto shopping centre Sherway Gardens has launched a new website intended to allow consumers to plan a "personal shopping experience." The site, developed by Extreme Group of Toronto, is located at <http://sherwaypersonalshopping.ca>. Visitors can book an in-home or in-mall style consultation after answering a series of preparatory questions. "It was important that the launch of the personal shopping program at Sherway Gardens kept the high-end positioning of our brand and appealed to our existing customers," said Elena Price, senior marketing director at Sherway Gardens. "Having developed the 'Life Less Ordinary' positioning for us, Extreme Group developed a website and supporting material with a voice that appealed to our discerning customer." Sherway Gardens is owned by Cadillac Fairview.

Montreal-based Yellow Pages Group has added a new recommendation service to its website. The service, called Yellow Pages Answers, is located at <http://answers.yellowpages.ca>. Consumers can use the service to ask for recommendations about local merchants. Users can also send out their request to their Facebook and Twitter contact lists. "We are uniquely positioned to offer Canadians an online community where they can ask questions and find locally relevant recommendations from a large pool of consumers in real time," said Jean-Pascal Lion, marketing vice-president at Yellow Pages Group. "Our new Answers service provides users with a question and answer environment that is easy to use and will be familiar to anyone that participates in social media activities." The service is powered by Montreal-based software company Praized Media.
